Charlotte Acting, led by the renowned Linda Ann Watt, is back with in-person classes at the Visual Arts and Performing Arts (VAPA) Center in Charlotte, NC. After a temporary shift to virtual sessions due to the pandemic and the closure of Spirit Square, Watt took the opportunity to write The Actors Manifesto and continued to teach remotely.
Now, two signature offerings are available:
Workshop Advanced for the Working Actor – A method acting class by audition for professional actors, held at Charlotte’s Off-Broadway (COB) space within VAPA.
Master Class Acting & Scene Study – Designed to hone techniques in acting and public speaking, covering essentials like scene study, voice work, and method acting principles.
The Excellence in Theatre Education Award is a special honor recognizing a theatre educator in the U.S. who has demonstrated monumental impact on the lives of students and who embodies the highest standards of the profession.
With over twenty-five years of teaching experience, Watt has shared her knowledge with beginning and established working actors, guiding them through the intricacies of techniques of Stanislavski, Strasberg, Hagen, Adler, Meisner also using some of her own techniques. Her expertise, backed by an MFA in Theatre Performance Pedagogy, has made her a beacon of wisdom in the acting community.
