Internationally recognized acting teacher and coach Linda Ann Watt with an MFA in Theatre Performance Pedagogy inspires students at the university level with this Introductory Master Class which is presented as an 8-hour class. It can be broken up into one or two days. This is a powerful workshop for theatre and film students who are in a Bachelor or Master of Fine Arts program. This workshop complements the curriculum college students are immersed in and includes the disciplines of Stanislavski, Strasberg, Meisner, Adler, Hagen, Practical Aesthetics and Watt’s techniques. This highly participatory, energetic and entertaining seminar includes the history of realism in acting, relaxation, voice, sense memory, “what if,” improvisation, cold-reading for auditioning, private moment, the proper way to rehearse including actioning and how to break down a scene, how to slate and on-camera acting techniques. Linda helps students break through their personal artistic limitations to take risks and work a different way to bridge the gap between being a student and becoming a professional.
